Telluride is a blast

No matter what you like to do, Telluride has it in spades. I lived in Telluride full time for 10 years and got acquainted with some great small businesses there- including managing one Main Street business myself. I have put together a guide for you whether you are planning a wedding or event, looking for some fresh flowers, wanting to shop for art and jewelry, or scheduling a fly fishing, rafting or other outdoor adventure I've got you covered.

Outdoor Adventures

Of course you know about the world class ski area and golf course, but did you know you can ride horses and visit some of the best hot springs around?  Here are some of my favorites, but for a full list of winter activities click here. For the summer click here.

Fly-fishing: My favorite guide is Jørn Reiman at Telluride Outside.

You can find trips snowmobiling, 4x4, fishing, rafting, SUP, and they have a great Main Street location.

Hiking- Bear Creek is right out the front door. Go one block West and a half block South and you will be at the trail head. At the top of that trail head you can access the Wahsatch Trail which ends at Bridal Veil (East End of town) or Gold Hill which will lead you on the ski area to the mid mountain station for the gondola.

If you want to get out of town a bit, my favorite hikes are Hope Lake (beginner),  Ice Lake (more advanced), Blue Lakes (Ridgway) leading up to Sneffels Mountain. Not to be confused with Blue Lake which is above town from Bridal Veil access. Also in town is the moderate hike Jud Wiebe hike. The trail head is at the top of Aspen Street.

Shopping

There are so many great shops in Telluride. I recommend checking this website to find what you are looking for on your vacation. I really enjoy going to Telluride Arts HQ gallery, MIXX, and Gold Mountain Gallery for art and jewelry. Check out all the shops listed here

Restaurants

There are so many delicious restaurants in Telluride. For fine dining the most consistent ones in my opinion are 221 S. Oak, Rustico, Cosmopolitan, and Sheridan Chop House. 221 has lots of Vegetarian options. New restaurants that are making their marks are Kazahana for sushi (including omikasse), Petite Maison, and Sidework. For yummy casual dining I like Cornerhouse, Floradora, Siam, and La Cocina de Luz. Check out Allred's for the view and if you're heading out of town for a hike grab a sandwich from Cindy Bread. For daily breakfast there is butcher & Baker and for brunch my pick is 221 S. Oak.

Arts & Community

There are a lot of ways to be involved, but some of my favorite are Telluride Arts, Ah Haa Art school where you can take some fun classes and tune into KOTO.org to hear what's going on in town. From festivals to events they will keep you up to date on the latest. Go check out a show at the old Sheridan Opera House or do the monthly art walk! For a list of current events click here. If you're looking to plan a special event, check out Telluride Unveiled.
