Snorkel or Scuba Dive in Cozumel, Mexico?

Scuba Dive or Snorkel. OK , I am going to break these down differently because there are so many great sights and reef in and around Cozumel and some are better to scuba and some better to snorkel.

Snorkel: Definitely check out cielito. It is called that because it looks like a "little sky" (Cielo is sky in Spanish). It looks like a little sky because it is shallow and the water is crystal clear and all you can see are starfish chilling out on the ocean floor. On a warm day you just jump in with your mask and you can get face to face with a starfish. The snorkel trip I took was with ScubaDu Cozumel, but you can go with any group and they will have a trip there. I liked ScubaDu because the boats are fast and the guides are very nice and they give you a beer at your last stop (or something non alcoholic if you prefer). If you want to have a fun half day in the sun I highly recommend using them.

Now depending on where you are staying, you can probably snorkel right off your beach. I have done this from the Intercontinental and from Hotel B/ Hotel B unique. There are so many great fish around Cozumel if you just want to make it easy go out from the shore. You can also access from Tikila beach (yes I spelled that correctly).

Scuba Dive. Now, I love to scuba dive. I prefer boat dives and really liked my dives with ScubaDu and Aldora. The Aldora dive instructor was very attentive and helped me a lot with getting the right weights for my dive just perfect for my buoyancy. I tried the night dive. For the daytime dives, cedar pass was my favorite. I have done it three times and always see a turtle and twice saw some great octopuses. I like to bring along my camera and included a a shot of a turtle here, but you can check out my other images to purchase here.
